Kyvalley Park & Pool

The Story of our Park & Pool

The School closed in 1992. The former Shire of Deakin purchased the land, (which included a learner's Swimming Pool), from the Education Department and bestowed it to the local community to operate. The Site has flourished as the Kyvalley Community Park and Pool (Kyvalley Swimming Club inc.) It is, along with the Hall and Tennis Club, at the heart of this small rural district. Situated in a small 3 acre bush block it is a picturesque bush Park which is wholly managed, along with the Pool, by volunteers from the local community. It provides an invaluable social focal point for the district population where many other similar small districts suffer decline once their School closes.

Comprising a 12 metre pool of 1 metre depth, (accessed through a paid membership system), up to the minute playground equipment, electric BBQ area, oval and former School quadrangle it provides a valuable place for young children to learn to swim and play and to hold family picnics. All set in the lovely bush Park which has free public access.

Feel free to come down and have a look at the Park & Pool anytime. We are very proud of how well maintained they both are.

We hope you enjoy them!

The Pool is open between November and March. Plenty of lovely, sunny days await us. Make the most of your membership. Join up soon!

Membership is open to everyone.
